“Spring Forward V" ©2021 Niki Gulley 24" x 12" textured mixed media painting on 1.5" wrap around canvas with the painting continuing around the edges I wanted to capture the excitement and energy felt during a beautiful April day when the Texas wildflowers are painting the horizon in their uplifting palette. Driving through the hill country in springtime, there is such an amazing explosion of color from the bluebonnets, Indian Paintbrush, coreopsis, Evening Primrose and the plethora of wildflowers, that it fills your heart with joy and awe. Focusing on the rows of varied hues, I wanted to communicate the emotion felt being surrounded by all of this beauty.
