New "Nova" Textured Aspen Tree Painting by Niki Gulley

"Nova" ©2022 Niki Gulley 36" x 36" textured mixed media painting  on 1.5" wrap around canvas with the painting continuing around the edges Inspired by this gorgeous aspen grove, I wanted to capture the magical morning light casting its warm glow on the forest. Peaceful and mysterious, the sun's rays peek through the knotted trunks causing the landscape to dance with light and awaken with autumn’s kaleidoscope of colors. Loaded with texture and layers and layers of paint, the forest shimmers with hope and discovery for the new day. E-mail  Niki Gulley with any questions. "Woodland Adventure" Palette Knife Aspen Tree Painting by Niki Gulley

"Woodland Adventure" ©2022 Niki Gulley  18" x 24"" textured oil painting on board I find being immersed in nature can have such an uplifting effect, and I wanted to share that feeling with you in Woodland Adventure. I chose pure, intense reds and yellows contrasted against autumn greens to create a fall forest that vibrates with color and energy.  I placed the vivid foliage in diagonal sweeping shapes to create a sense of movement, so that you can feel the wind gently rustling the leaves and causing them to dance on a beautiful fall day. "Autumn Hideaway" by Contemporary Impressionist Niki Gulley

"Autumn Hideaway"   ©2022 Niki Gulley 16" x 20" textured oil painting  After we finished teaching our Art Trek to Vermont, my husband and I stayed another few days to try to capture the gorgeous scenery on canvas and film. This morning, we ventured up to the majestic overlook by the Von Trapp property to capture the spectacular scenery. I loved how this cabin was perfectly tucked into the mountainside surrounded by vibrant fall foliage. The slightly overcast day made the colors pop even more! I hope you, too, can enjoy the crisp autumn air and a peaceful escape from the bustle of city life. To purchase "Autumn Hideaway," please visit  https://www.nikigulley.com/autumn-hideaway/. New "Autumn's Tapestry II" Kid's Perspective Painting by Niki Gulley

"Autumn's Tapestry II" ©2022 Niki Gulley textured oil painting on board • 20" x 20" In this painting I wanted you to feel that child-like wonder of staring up into the treetops and heavens above. Choosing uplifting golds and reds contrasted against a turquoise-blue sky, I've arranged the aspens in a circular pattern to give you a sense of laying on the ground, surrounded by the forest. Using diagonal leading lines with the tree trunks and limbs, your eye gazes into the focal point where all of the elements come together. Meanwhile, utilizing thick, curving paint strokes adds to that joyful, playful feeling of hope and discovery. To see more of my impressionist palette knife paintings, please visit  NikiGulley.com . "Winding Water" from the Willow City Loop by Niki Gulley

"Winding Water II"  ©2022 Niki Gulley  16" x 20" textured mixed media painting on canvas panel Painted on location along the Willow City Loop in Fredericksburg, TX, I was drawn to this tranquil spot, especially as the day was getting hotter. When I started the scene, there were just a few shadows being cast from the trees on the right but they kept growing as I was painting! I liked the rhythm they were creating so I decided to include their patterns and go ahead and chase the light (which is a no no for plein air painters). But there's always exceptions to the rules, right? I hope you enjoy this cool peaceful place as much as I did. "Peaks and Valleys" Palette Knife Painting from Isle of Skye by Niki Gulley

"Peaks and Valleys" ©2022 Niki Gulley 12" x 16” textured oil painting Scotland Art Trek –  Days 5: Isle of Skye - Quiraing Led by Niki Gulley and Scott Williams Next up on our Scotland Art Trek itinerary was a morning stop at the Quiraing, a unique area filled with high cliffs, hidden plateaus and unusual rock formations. Allowing a full morning for my painters to capture the land's unique beauty, everyone did an amazing job! I chose this vantage point with some of the purple heather growing in the foreground, adding a nice color contrast to all of that lush greenery. The photographers hiked all around, capturing unique angles and then we all treated ourselves to lunch. Afterwards, we stopped at Mealt Falls to take in the waterfall's power and beauty, and then we finished the day back in Portree. To purchase "Peaks and Valleys," please check out  https://www.nikigulley.com/falling-water-ii-2/. Photographers searching for that perfect angle to captur...
