Cooper Street Flowers - An Original 10 x 8 Plein Air Landscape Oil Painting by George De Chiara

Cooper Street Flowers   © 10x8    Oil George De Chiara Click here to bid.  A few years ago, our city started a city beautification program. As part of that program, they spread wild flowers seeds along some of the roadways that didn't already have flowers blooming along them, such as this little strip of land just off Cooper Street. Since these wild flowers all re-seed themselves every year, the crop of them keeps getting better and better, especially if we have rain during winter and early spring. This is my first time painting this particular patch of wild flowers, but it will not be my last now that where it is. I'll add this spot to my list of places to check when the wild flowers start to bloom next spring. www.georgedechiara.com

Blue Fest by Artist of Texas, Sheri Jones

Blues Fest  6x8 oil on canvas I created this on location in Glen Rose. It was a little early for the wildflowers and the blue bonnets were a rare sighting. We were thrilled when we found this field of the bluebonnets. We enjoyed beautiful spring weather and bright sunshine. Two qualities of plein air painting that I look forward to all winter. This is available for purchase. $100.00 Sheri@sheriart.net www.sheriart.net www.sheriart.blogspot.com www.cfai.co/sherijones/

MEADOWLAND PARK BY PAT MEYER

8 X 10 ORIGINAL OIL PAINTED ON LOCATION $100 PAT@MEYER.NET PATMEYER-ARTIST.COM Doesn't Meadowland Park sound like a place we all should live.  The relaxing side of town were all your troubles just melt away.  This neighborhood looks like it should be in a movie with it's tree lined streets, children playing, people walking the dog and just visiting.  The day was so beautiful I jumped out of bed got the painting gear ready and off to paint.  Had to set up street side and watch for cars while trying to paint.  The things artist do for fun! Roadside Blue by David Forks

Roadside Blue by David Forks Oil on panel, 11"x14" I found this scene in the late afternoon just off the side of the road in Chappell Hill, Texas. The bluebonnets and paintbrush were at their peak and the late afternoon sun was dancing across the slope of the landscape. I was specifically drawn to this scene by the variety of blues within sunlight and shadow. dforks.blogspot.com davidforks.com

Harborside Drive

Harborside Drive Galveston, Texas 6 x 6 Oil on Panel Randall Cogburn Framed: Randy Higbee La Paz floater frame  w/gold lip. Click to Purchase on  eBay Buy it Now . This particular painting has had a nice history to it. It's actually traveled quite a bit and went to an Art Show in California at the Randy Higbee 6x6 Show in Costa Messa. I will tell you a little about the painting and some history. The boat in the background used to be a live-aboard and for a longtime it was anchored in what's called Offats Bayou. It's more like a big Bay with marina and housing boat launch area etc. Well it had taking a beating from a recent hurricane that hit Galveston. When I visited after the storm this boat was actually on top of dry land about 3-4miles further down the Bay. This boat is actually pretty big over 40feet. Years later it popped up. It was interesting to find it here in this dry dock that repairs boats. When I visit the Gallery here in Galvest...

Pinkquilibrium Roses by Texas Flower Artist Nancy Medina

Pinkquilibrium Roses by Nancy Medina 12X12 Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Purchase Information Flower Painting Workshops Nancy Medina Web Site Follow Me on Facebook Pinkquilibrium Roses is the newest daily painting in Flower Mound Studio, as I finish packing for a trip to the Texas Hill Country. I've finished a new four foot container garden for the Good Art Company Gallery, and will have a lot of explaining to do when I return, since Studio Director AnnieBee will not be able to come with me this trip. It's a little difficult to obey her every whim and teach an art class at the same time, unfortunately.... We still have not broken the news that her gallery beau, Bob, has found a new four footed cutey upon which to lavish his affections. Stay tuned for Hill Country photos, pictures of my students, and lots of celebratory kolache eating! Cheese filled or cherry, that will be the question we will have to make each morning. Have I mentioned lately how much I love...

SOLD ~ White Hydrangeas on Purple and a Texas Hill Country Show by Nancy Medina

Deep Purple White Hydrangeas by Nancy Medina SOLD Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Purchase Information Flower Painting Workshops Nancy Medina Web Site Follow Me on Facebook My St. Louis workshop filled up today, so I felt the need to celebrate my first workshop in my home town with some bold color! I've been playing with purple just about all week, after creating a new banner for my art newsletter. There is just something soothing about fuschias and lavenders, and lately it's been a lot of fun to find new colors to pair with purple. In the meantime, I've got a Big Ole (important Texas term) four foot canvas behind me I'm scrambling to finish in time for my Featured Artist night for The Good Art Company Gallery in Fredericksburg, Texas , next Friday evening. I sure hope to see you there! Click here to sign up for all the news worth painting!

Contemporary Abstract Horse Equine Art Painting Silver's Gang by A Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Silver's Gang 30 x 40 inches  Oil on Canvas   This was what Brad Bisby calls the 'battlefield'. There are times when you paint you have a set direction. If I showed you where this painting was before I scrapped it twice you would laugh and definitely think it was not related. The spirit of this horse painting gives a strong definition to equine art because of the strength and passion in the 10 layers or more of oil paints. If I tried to paint something like this again... I could not ever get there. That is what makes this horse painting so unique.     ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design  Visit http://lauriepace.blogspot.com to view more of my work

Hobbs - An Original 8 x 8 Commissioned Oil Painting by George De Chiara

Hobbs   © 8x8 inches   Oil George De Chiara SOLD  I recently finished up this commission piece for a new collector. I had to work from photograph they provided me, but I was able to use a lot of artistic licence on the background. This was actually the client's idea and I was happy to fulfill it. This was the first time I've tried to paint such curly hair and while it was a great challenge, it was also a lot of fun to work on. If you would like to commission your own painting, please contract me at george@georgedechiara.com . I'd love to hear from you! www.georgedechiara.com

Miksang Photography Workshop - with Miksang teacher and Contemporary Photographer Denise Bossarte

Miksang Photography Workshop - at The Dutch Art Gallery Dallas, TX with Miksang teacher and Contemporary Photographer Denise Bossarte, May 3rd and 4th Contemplative Photography Level I Workshop “While there is perhaps a province in which the photograph can tell us nothing more than what we see with our own eyes, there is another in which it proves to us how little our eyes permit us to see.” – Dorothea Lange T his two-day workshop offers a unique opportunity experience a contemplative practice using cameras as a way to expand how you see and interact with the world. In contemplative photograph y, we learn to synchronize the eye and the mind, to be mindful of the present moment without judging, reflecting, or thinking. When the eye and the mind are in the same place, the photographer/artist is simply observing the moment in which they find themselves and they can discover and capture the ordinary magic of the phenomenal world.    In Miksang , we ...

SOLD ~ Island Geraniums and Violet Infatuations by Flower Artist Nancy Medina

Island Geraniums by Nancy Medina SOLD 12X12 Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Purchase Information Flower Painting Workshops Nancy Medina Web Site Follow Me on Facebook Island Geraniums is another Coronado-inspired floral painting, as I sift through my library of over 500 new photos from my trip there last weekend. These images will fuel the muses for some time to come; there is just something about the light on Coronado Island that seems to give the flowers there such a color boost! Like Miracle Grow in the sunshine or something.... I've become infatuated with purple backgrounds recently, and thought a purple background on this painting would be an interesting experiment. What do you think?

Palette Knife Bluebonnet Painting by Texas Artist Niki Gulley

"Texas Pride II" ©2013 Niki Gulley 20" x 30" textured oil painting on canvas I painted these Texas bluebonnets and with extremely thick oil paint and palette knives to achieve depth and texture. The resulting image comes to life and is loaded with color and energy. In this wildflower series, I've painted the scene around the edges of the canvas on 1 and 1/2" deep stretcher bars so that the painting can be hung without a frame for a contemporary look. Or, I also have a beautiful espresso floater frame where you can still see the painted edges of the canvas if you prefer framed artwork. Texas Pride II is also available in canvas prints. please e-mail  Niki@NikiGulley.com  for pricing and ordering information. Rockwall Revisited - An Original 10 x 8 Landscape Oil Painting by George De Chiara

Rockwall Revisited   © 10x8 inches   Oil George De Chiara Click here to bid.  This is the painting I did as a demo last night for the Rockwall Art League. I had a great time explaining my process and answering questions, and I hope those watching did too. Somehow in all the conversation, I missed a few things that I wanted to fix in the water and reflections of the rocks before the demo was over. Once I had the painting back in my studio and I was able to look at for a little while, I decided to put it back up on the easel and make a few tweaks to it.  If this looks familiar to you, you are not imagining things. I based this off of a plein air painting I did a few weeks ago. www.georgedechiara.com

Into the Air Pink Poppies by Nancy Medina SOLD 12X12 Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Purchase Information Flower Painting Workshops Nancy Medina Web Site Follow Me on Facebook Into the Air Pink Poppies is the newest painting in Flower Mound Studio, and it's good to be home after a whirlwind trip to Coronado Island for my solo show at Art and Frames by Wood Gallery in Southern California. It was a wonderful show, with so many good friends in attendance, the most scrumptious refreshments you ever tasted, and enough sales to pay for the trip! *confetti* A few weeks ago, I received a $1000 gift card from my editorial board as a thanks for my work on the magazine. It took me all of five minutes to spend half of it. It was like being on a game show or something! In case you are wondering what $400 worth of paint looks like, I've shared a photo on my art blog today! I'm not quite sure why the song "Isn't She Lovely" runs through my mind...

New Aspen Tree Painting by Niki Gulley - Just Sold

“Destination Unknown” ©2013 Niki Gulley SOLD • 36" x 48” textured oil painting on wrap around canvas Just Sold to Prime Lending in North Dallas. On one of our plein air painting trips we led, we happened upon this gorgeous aspen grove. Enjoying the melodic tinkling of the aspen leaves rustling in the breeze, the trickling sounds of the babbling brook at our backs, and the beauty of fall ablaze with color, I felt invigorated as I began painting. The setting was so peaceful and rejuvenating that I wanted to communicate that joyful feeling of discovery in this piece. Filling the canvas with energetic staccato strokes and bold colors, in addition to gently arching the tree trunks towards the sky add to that uplifting feeling. And then just a sliver of the trail cutting through the forest, suggests the excitement of the journey that is to come. For more information on my textured palette knife birch and aspen tree oil paintings, please e-mail  Niki Gulley. Or if you...

In Bloom - An Original 8 x 8 Landscape Oil Painting by George De Chiara

In Bloom  ©   8x8 inches  Oil George De Chiara Click here to bid.  My wife and I went to Oklahoma a few years ago for a quiet little vacation. With plans to do nothing more than hike and enjoy the wilderness, we set out to see the sights. We hiked along river beds flowing with water, trails leading up the mountain sides and around lakes and some trails that just seemed to meander through fields and forests. Somewhere along one of these hikes we ran across this hill-side scattered with rocks and covered in wild flowers. I snapped a reference photo of it with the intentions of doing a studio painting once back home. Since then I have done a few smaller studies of this scene, including this one. www.georgedechiara.com

Spirit With Us, Three Arabian Horses Painting by A Texas Artist Laurie Pace

Spirit With Us by a Texas Artist Laurie Pace SOLD 30 x 40 inches Oil on Canvas   The couple from the UK prayed about the name of the painting. They based it on the Trinity in a sense, but thinking of a marriage where two become together as one, Keith reflected as God at the top of the triangle and he and his wife the bottom two points. As you reduce the size of the triangle... all comes together closer as one.  He also mentioned the white Arabian symbolized purity in the Holy Spirit and the two brown Arabians were representative of he and his wife and their state of uncleanness, still working to become closer to the Father.  ©Laurie Pace    Graphics One Design 1998-2012  Visit http://lauriepace.blogspot.com to view more of my work
