Waterfall by Sheri Jones

Waterfall by Sheri Jones 10 x 10 oil on canvas I painted this at Chandor Gardens in Weatherford, Texas. This is a beautiful garden area now owned by the city. The original owner, Douglas Chandor created the gardens over 70 years ago. He was a renowned portrait artist, but his true love was the garden. The city is doing a beautiful job of maininting and preserving this little bit of heaven. I look forward to returning soon. Available sheriart@sheriart.net sheriart.net sheriart.blogspot.com

PALM SUNDAY ROSES BY PAT MEYER

AVAILABLE Palm Sunday starts Holy Week. As Jesus rode into the city and all the palms where waving in his honor I wonder if there where any roses laid at his feet. Each time you think about giving flowers to show someone that you love them you usually give roses as a sign of undieing love and affection. Today I painted these roses in honor of My Lord and Savior showing him my love and thankfulness for all that he did for me. May you show love for the Lord and may you find your easel friendly. 9 x 12 original oil on linen panel $200 plus free shipping contact artist direct Pat@Meyer.net PatMeyerdailypainter.blogspot.com Texas, USA Pay Pal Accepted Labels, floral roses still life brass container impressionistic original

Bluebonnets and Wild Grasses by Sheri Jones

Blue Bonnets and Wild Grasses by Sheri Jones 9 x 12 oil on canvas This was painted today from the banks of the Brazos River in Granbury. I really ramped up the color with this one and I love it. The winds were very gusty and knocked over my Easy L pallet, brushes, painting and all went splat. This painting comes with more sand texture that originally intended. Painting primarily with a pallet knife. Available Sheri@sheriart.net sheriart.net sheriart.blogspot.com

This is painted with a pallet knife and lots of paint. Available Sheri@sheriart.net sheriart.net sheriart.blogspot.com

American Airlines Exhibit

"Current of Tranquility" ©2010 Niki Gulley 36" x 60" oil on canvas In this painting I wanted to communicate the peacefulness that comes over me when I'm near water, choosing cool blues and purples to heighten that feeling. I also wanted just a hint of vibrancy in the painting so I chose yellow accents in the leaves and along the bank to add contrast and life. "Current of Tranquility" and several of my other paintings were selected to exhibit at American Airlines' headquarters and I'm excited about attending the opening reception this afternoon! The Inside Track by Kay Wyne

The Inside Track Oil on Canvas 24" x 30" I finished this painting. Normally I paint odd numbers of objects or subject matter in my paintings, but four horses seemed to work for me on this canvas. I did have some horses in the background at one time, but decided to blurr the background completely. Initially I had the starting stalls in the background with roof and sky painted in, but I changed my plans. The horse with the green blinker on the inside track is in the lead. This painting conveys the energy, excitement, and competitiveness of the horse race. This painting will be for sale once it dries and placed up at The Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas, Texas. Thanks for viewing this blog. Please contact me if you are interested in this painting that is fresh off the easel! Kay at 214-532-0325 or kay@kwyne.com .

Tulip Tango and a Tour of Artscape at the Dallas Arboretum

Tulip Tango by Nancy Medina 16X12 Oil on Linen Board Daily Painters Gallery Artist contact: nancy@nancymedina.com Nancy Medina Web Site Nancy Medina Art Blog Last weekend the Dallas Arboretum hosted Artscape, and 94! Guess whose art tent this is, the one on the upper right, the one with the flower paintings? I'll give you a minute... Though the show was cut short by snow on Sunday, on Friday the weather was excruciatingly beautiful. Take a peek at my blog for a tour of Artscape ! Thanks to everyone who came to see me in frigid temperatures on Saturday. I owe a debt of gratitude to whomever invented pocket warmers. I couldn't have made it through without them!

Tuscany Painting & Photography Workshop

"Parting Clouds" by Niki Gulley 36" x 24" oil painting This painting was inspired by one of our trips to Tuscany. I've always been attracted to this lone clump of cypress trees and the story behind them, and on this day the clouds in the sky parted just enough to allow the sun's rays to pass through and illuminate the cypress grove below in almost a spiritual way. I decided to keep the bold colors of my underpainting showing through in areas because I thought the intense reds added to the drama of the moment. If you'd like to join us on our next Plein Air Painting and Photography Workshop in Tuscany this September, let me know as it is limited to 10 participants and filling up quickly! Visit nikigulley.com/ng2/?page_id=13 for more information. Early registration deadline for a $300 savings is this Wednesday, March 24th. If you have any questions, e-mail me at Niki@NikiGulley.com.

Table Rock - Thaw Malin iii

"Table Rock", this is a Small painting, 6"x 8", oil on canvas panel. If this glacier boulder was tipped just a little bit less, it would look just like a flat table top. It sits in 3 to 6 feet of water in the tide zone of the north shore, within splashing distance of Split Rock to the east. I took notice of it when I did the painting of Split Rock last month. I had to wait for another windless, overcast day to go back as I was after the shadow/reflection in front of it on the water. In the summer months the proliferation of plankton and other sea life would not give the same beautiful shadow water color as winter water does. Today was good until the fog banks rolled in, the water turned dark and I had to abruptly pack up... If you'd like to purchase, please click Go to my Auction, bidding starts at $100.00 US. ...

"Distant Cousins" original oil still life by Gwen Bell

8 x 6 oil on canvas SOLD Had so much fun with the Pepper that I thought I'd try another subject I've been avoiding. Bananas. Early on I tried to paint bananas but they always looked weird so I stopped trying. However, during my latest trip to the market I was gathering fruit and noticed that the pears and almost ripe bananas were the exact same color. The desire to capture them overcame my insecurity. I thought of the title because of the similarity in color and skin sheen and actually tried several compositions to see if I could make the pear appear to be growing with the bananas but that didn't work out so I went for an interesting shadow combination instead. River Dance by Sheri Jones

Longhorn Bluebonnet Mama by Debbie Grayson Lincoln

UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS MASCOT BEVO LONGORN COW CALF BULL 12 X 16 Oil on canvas board $200 Includes shipping and insurance Ron's cows are having babies - 5 down and 2 to go, and so far they are all healthy and VERY photogenic. I spent an hour yesterday before the front hit following the new mamas around, avoiding the bull, and snapping photographs. I haven't painted much lately - instead I have been drawing. Just drawing, which is what I do when the painting muse abandons me. I can draw pretty well, and it reinforces my confidence somehow. I am ready to paint now.... Boathouse Talk - Thaw Malin iii

"Boathouse Talk" , this is a Small painting, 6"x 8", oil on canvas panel. A truly gray day, a few days ago. This is always a nice place to duck into out of the wind, but the mist made it more complicated. Buds slowly starting to swell are incrementally changing their color shade. The wetness only intensifies the color values darker. My kind of drama in the landscape... If you'd like to purchase, please click Go to my Auction, bidding starts at $100.00 US.
