Original Contemporary Modern Art Abstract Paintings by Filomena de Andrade Booth

Nature's Bounty 24"x24"x1.5" Acrylic on canvas Purchase Information   There's something magical that happens when an artist begins to paint.  Even our best intentions get side tracked and instead of following one path, we end up somewhere else.  That's what happens when I paint intuitively.  My intention was to paint an abstract but the painting was directing me elsewhere.  I had almost decided to give up and just cover the canvas with gesso, but something was telling me to keep going...and so I did.  As I continued to layer color on top of color, this floral began to emerge.  Sometimes it's just best not to fight it! Nature's Bounty measures 24"x24".  This colorfully textured canvas is stretched on 1.5" bars.  The sides are painted in micacous iron oxide, a gray/black color.  It does not need to be framed.  It is signed on the side, dated and signed on the back.  A layer of acrylic varnish has ...

Jimmy Longacre_subjective realist landscape paintings_ GOOD BEING ALIVE!

Spring, full sun, noontime, 80 degrees. Good being alive.  Drove out to meet friends to paint on a ranch.  The fence gate was locked, and the sun was quickly climbing to mid-morning.  I like to catch the light around nine.  Standing around wondering what to do.  I was all packed and ready, with no where to go.  I got in my car determined to paint.  It was eleven before I found a place to set-up.  Felt good just to go for the painting.  Mixing the paint and piling it on.  Good for my soul. New "Autumn Reflections" Palette Knife Oil Painting by Contemporary Impressionist Niki Gulley

"Autumn Reflections" ©2015 Niki Gulley 18" x 48" textured oil painting on gallery wrap canvas In Autumn Reflections, I wanted to give you the feeling of a beautiful, peaceful retreat on a colorful autumn day. To create that feeling of being immersed in nature, I chose this long panorama format so that the sanctuary is completely engulfed in fall foliage, a perfect escape from bustling city life. Loaded with uplifting color, still waters suggest a calming effect. One small ripple in the lake's distance lets you know that some ducks just swam by and you are surrounded by wildlife, not a care in the world. If you're in the Dallas area this coming weekend and you'd like to see Autumn Reflections and more of my palette knife paintings in person, please stop by my booth at the Cottonwood Art Festival. Grandmother's Snowballs by artist Pat Meyer

5 x 7 oil on linen in carved framed $145 free shipping for Mother's Day contact Pat@Meyer.net My Grandmother in Tenn. always had the most beautiful snowball bush when I was growing up along her driveway.  On the weekends when we would go and stay with her that bush provided a place to hide when we were playing, blooms that were picked and used like balls (which she did not like) and the simple beauty that they provided.  It is so amazing that one plant can bring back such memories.  Now I have planted one in my yard in her memory. www.PatMeyer-artist.com Signature Member Artist of Texas, Oil Painters of America, American Impressionistic Society

Afternoon Delight by Kay Wyne

Afternoon Delight 12" x 12" Oil on RayMar Cotton Panel Contemporary Floral Landscape I was back in the studio yesterday, and got my palette knife out and created this painting.  The paint is layered on the panel, giving it texture and depth.  I moved the paint around quite a bit once it was on the panel.  The horizon line was changed numerous times...I wanted it to fade into the background, and needed to mix my oils over and over to get a hazy far-away look. I hope the viewer will feel good looking at this painting, as if he/she is standing in the field on a beautiful, delightful afternoon.  Thanks for looking at this painting.....contact  Kay  for more info on this painting.  KMW

Hot Sunflowers by artist Pat Meyer

12 x 16 oil on linen contact artist to purchase Pat@Meyer.net Sunflowers always like to be the center of attention with the drama they create.  Well to give them even more help for that stage I created the red background cloth.  But as we all need friends to keep us calm and going in the right direction the introduction of the blue vase and pansies gave peace to the sunflowers wild day.  May your friends provide peace to your day. www.PatMeyer-artist.com to sign up for newsletter Signature Member Artist of Texas, Oil Painters of America, American Impressionistic Society

"Creating Memories" Palette Knife Oil Painting of Venice, Italy by Niki Gulley

"Creating Memories," Venice ©2015 Niki Gulley 24" x 36" • textured oil painting Inspired from our first trip to Italy, I fell in love with everything about Venice. The city feels preserved in time with all transportation happening on water versus roads. The architecture, art, history, and people are all fascinating, the food and wine delicious, and it was such a romantic place to visit. So in this painting, I captured a lone gondola to convey that feeling of lazily drifting along with your loved one down this brick canal filled with history and future memories. If you're in the Dallas area this coming weekend and you'd like to see Creating Memories and more of my palette knife paintings in person, please stop by my booth at the Cottonwood Art Festival. Irma Ward - Artists of Texas

"Rose Bud" Acrylic 24" x 24" “Rose Bud” was inspired by a representational painting in oil that I recently completed.   For this crossover-to-abstract piece I chose an analogous color scheme, eliminated detail, and obscured the major elements.   I hope you are as delighted with the results as I. www.irmaward.com
