6 X 8 Oil on Canvas Panel Contact Artist at e-mail address below for purchase information Momma cows are attentive most of the time - especially when their calves are still small. Holding Back The Sea - Thaw Malin iii

"Holding Back The Sea", this is a small painting, 6" x 8", oil on canvas panel. A perfect, sunny afternoon to stand at the edge and paint the sea and cliff. It was cool, but with the slightest breeze would have been too cold. The colors were muted some in the strong, oncoming sunlight. No summer greens to play against the orange and rust of the cliff face. The blue of sky and water do double duty in winter months covering for the lack of the friendly green... If you'd like to purchase, please click Go to my Auction, bidding starts at $100.00 US. Subscribe to my "New Paintings" mailing list. Ragdoll Tulips and Sunflowers by Nancy Medina

Ragdoll Tulips and Sunflowers 10X12 Oil on Linen Board Available in My Daily Painters Gallery Nancy Medina Web Site Nancy Medina Art Blog Last summer, I received a beautiful bouquet of red ragdoll tulips and sunflowers, and could not wait to set them up for a photo shoot on my back porch. The pugs were available to supervise, ensuring that any fruit that rolled off of the table was hastily retrieved, though not always returned. The weather today is much like it was the day I took the photo on my blog that inspired this painting - sunny, a bit windy, and really beautiful outside.

Fresh Trees

'Fresh Trees' © This is a new Christmas painting for 2010. I'm not sure how many people use fresh trees anymore. We don't because of allergies. I can remember going on Dec.24th and getting a tree when I was growing up. My parents would never put a tree up before then! Strange now, since people decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving. Available as Christmas cards. My Website My Blog

A Rose Is a Rose by Nancy Medina

A Rose Is a Rose by Nancy Medina 6X8 Oil on Linen Board Available in My Daily Painters Gallery Nancy Medina Web Site Nancy Medina Art Blog A Rose Is a Rose is another step forward in the rose journey that has been under way for a few months in Flower Mound Studio. What to name a red rose in a red pot? Rose on rose came to mind, and then Shakespeare was the next logical thought. I chose journalism as my professional trade as soon as I finished college, but my love of books and words came much earlier. My mother used to read stories to my sisters and I and all of our friends every day at naptime. I remember seeing her in the rocking chair with my baby sister Jackie in her arms, and a book propped in her lap. She read quietly, and confidently, and she gave every word the ability to pull me into another place. Mom is still in the hospital this week. Each small step in her recovery from pneumonia is cheered and measured by whether she ate today, how much, did she want to sit up, and did she...

Shades of Fall by Sheri Jones

Shades of Fall by Sheri Jones 12 x 9 oil on canvas I created this from a photo I took early one morning on my way to work. This is from an area we painted during the spring time, but it was my first time to drive thru during the fall. This tree and the golden grasses were all lite up. It was one I couldn't wait to put my twist to it. I love all the warm colors. I will be do a painting demonstration at the Dutch Art Gallery on Saturday, December 4, 11 am- 4 pm. The Artist of Texas have a beautiful show until the end of December. 10233 E. NW Hwy, #420, Dallas, TX 75238 214-348-7350. This painting is available for purchase. $125.00 Sheri@sheriart.net sheriart.net sheriart.blogspot.com

Marina Beach - WIP (continued)

I probably ate way too much turkey on Thursday because it apparently gave me a case of "paintus interruptus". Anyway, here's the next days work, which believe it or not is the first time (that I can remember) ever painting an ocean. I had fun with it. I should be able to finish this piece in another day. Considering the size, it's going faster than I expected. Visit Kirk Witmer Fine Art Email the artist

Canning Season - Nathalie Kelley

Canning Season   8" X 10" Watercolor Sold My Grandma made the best pear preserves during  "Canning Season".  She never used fancy, tender, store bought pears.  She always had pear trees in her yard  and the pears were kind of like her –  old fashioned, home grown, and tough but oh so sweet.  There was always a jar of her famous preserves on her table.  Pear preserves, warm biscuits, and melting butter, yum!  What memories!I wasn’t prepared went she left  and took her recipe to heaven with her.  Now, I just savor the memory.  Thanks, Grandma!!! Jwood's Ratrod by Sheri Jones

JWood's Ratrod by Sheri Jones 11 x 12 oil on Raymar canvas panel This was created from a photo I took of my nephew's 28 Ford Ratrod. My husband went out for a ride in this rough, barely legal car. I thought they were heading to the right location, as they drove off towards the church. I liked the contrast of this small country church and this backroads car. Sunny Days Sunflower by Nancy Medina

Sunny Days Sunflower 6X8 Oil on Linen Board Available in My Daily Painters Gallery Nancy Medina Web Site Nancy Medina Art Blog Sunny Days Sunflower is drying on the easel as I reacquaint myself with my little studio this week. On Sunday my mother was rushed to emergency with pneumonia, and on Monday the doctor told us to call in the family, her prognosis was not good. The next day, my mother sat up in her hospital bed and asked for a chocolate malt, which was delivered promptly. She drank the whole thing and began talking about coming home. Yesterday the doctor said she is out of danger, much to his amazement. Thank you to everyone who sent positive thoughts and prayers our way. I have so much to be thankful for this year, most of all the chance to tell my mom how much I love her. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and a beautiful holiday season!

Evening Wood - Thaw Malin iii

"Evening Wood", this is a small painting, 6" x 8", oil on canvas panel. I love taking care of my friends' cat while they are away. There are so many wonder views around the old family homestead. I had to stop while driving out and capture this one in the evening light. With my hood up to keep me warm and not making too many fast movements, I fit right with the turkey flock as they slunk in to their roosting pines. They paid me no heed 20 feet away from their launching lawn as they each revved up for take off into the tops of the pine trees. I felt, truly, like a fly on the wall as they trotted past me from all directions to get settled in... If you'd like to purchase, please click Go to my Auction, bidding starts at $100.00 US. Last Light, Lake Arlington - Original Painting by George De Chiara

Last Light, Lake Arlington 5x7 inches Oil on Canvas Panel by George De Chiara If you would like to purchase this painting visit my auction here  Today, while going to pick up our daughter at day care, my wife commented that it looked like we might have a good sunset tonight and came up with the wonderful idea of taking our daughter to the park so they could play while I painted. Who could argue with that plan? So off we went just as fast as would could since the sun was starting to set. As soon as we got the the park, I quickly grabbed my gear and headed off to the pier to catch the last of the sunset. I had to paint really fast since the sun was going quickly. There's nothing like watching your subject fade off just as fast as you can sling paint onto the canvas. Still, I must admit that I really enjoy trying these sunset paintings from life. They are a true adrenaline rush! To read more about this painting please visit my blog. htt...

Fading Garden by Sheri Jones

Marina Beach - WIP

24" x 30"  Oil on canvas  You may remember seeing the the 8x10 study that I did last week for this piece. So here's the first day's progress on the larger version.  Color matching came from just studying the original image on my laptop real carefully. It's closer than in the study but it's still not a direct match. But who cares. I still like it the way it is. Spent somewhere between five and six hours on it today. I'm tired and "my dogs are barkin". Tomorrow's another day. Visit Kirk Witmer Fine Art Email the artist

PERSIMMONS by Linda Popple

6X6 Oil on Ampersand Gessobord Click HERE to view my blog. These were really fun to paint. I've never tried painting persimmons. I saw them in Central Market and decided to give them a try. I added a mirror to the right of the setup to add a bit more light in that direction. The stronger light was on the left. I think I will be painting more of these beautiful fruits and play more with lighting.

Orchid Study - Original Oil Painting by George De Chiara

Orchid Study 5x7 inches Oil on Canvas Panel by George De Chiara If you would like to purchase this painting visit my auction here .  I'm working on a commission for one of my collectors and she wants orchids in it. Having never painted an orchid before, I thought it might be a good idea to do this little study first. I'm working from silk flowers with this one, which have a unique set of issues, but since I have my doubts on keeping the real thing alive long enough to paint, it's the best I can do. That being said, I have tried out my green thumb in the vegetable garden, but sometimes things just don't work out for me when it comes to flowers. Fall Garden by Sheri Jones

Fall Garden by Sheri Jones 12 x 9 oil on canvas This was painted today at the Botanical Gardens in Ft. Worth. I was attracted to the dying foliage and changing leaves. They were glowing in the morning sun. This was painted with a palette knife and lots of colorful paint. Today there were 20 artist out painting together. It is always so inspiring to be around other artist and friends. We had a grand old time! This painting is available for purchase. $125.00 Sheri@sheriart.net sheriart.net sheriart.blogspot.com

The Policewoman

'The Policewoman' I took this picture this summer in NY from the top of the tour bus. I just loved watching her as she directed the traffic. She knew what she was doing , that is for sure! Sunfire Sunflower by Nancy Medina

Sunfire Sunflower by Nancy Medina SOLD 6X8 Oil on Linen Board My Daily Painters Gallery Nancy Medina Web Site Nancy Medina Art Blog Sunfire Sunflower is a new small work closing out another day of painting at Flower Mound Studio. I find sometimes after focusing for hours on a large project or commission, right before it's time to put the brushes away, there is one more little painting asking to come out. Sunfire was the last minute burst of color after hours of work on a magnolia I'm creating in cool sea greens and bright lavenders. The other side of the palette wanted a turn, it seems!
