Shades of Crimson by Sheri Jones

Shades of Crimson by Sheri Jones 8 x 10 oil on canvas I painted this in the garden of a home in Waxahachie with a group from the Outdoor Painter's Society. The irises were the star of the garden. The Outdoor Painter's society is coming to my hometown May 14th and 15th. We will be painting in the streets of downtown Granbury and surrounding countryside. There are plenty of painting opportunities for the plein air artist. Granbury is a growing community, but still has the old town charm. It should be a great time. Climbing Trees oil painting by Niki Gulley

"Climbing Trees II" ©2010 Niki Gulley 48" x 36" oil on canvas In this painting, I wanted you to you to experience the wonderment of looking up into the treetops – just like you did when you were a kid. Choosing playful colors and thick chunky staccato strokes adds to that childlike whimsy and I hope you are transported back to a happy, carefree time and place. Stop by my booth at the Cottonwood Art Festival in Richardson, Texas this weekend and see "Climbing Trees" along with several other new paintings I've created this winter. Visit cottonwoodartfestival.com for details. E-mail me for more information at Niki@NikiGulley.com. NikiGulley.com

Broken Skies - Thaw Malin iii

"Broken Skies", this is a small painting, 6" x 8", oil on canvas panel. Rain and sprinkles were off and on. Skies were dramatic all day, but never safe enough to paint. My van became my movable studio with hopes of sunset drama. Found a spot just out of the car shaking wind, yet with water and sky views. The show came on suddenly, and just as rapidly was gone. The muted landscape colors gave added emphasis to the orange sun streaked skies... If you'd like to purchase, please click Go to my Auction, bidding starts at $100.00 US. Blue Hydrangea Garden Cottage by Nancy Medina

Blue Hydrangea Garden Cottage by Nancy Medina 8X10 Oil on Canvas Daily Painters Gallery Nancy Medina Web Site Nancy Medina Art Blog Blue Hydrangea Garden Cottage is based on the island gardens of Coronado, CA, where you can find at any time of year an array of amazing homes and flowers. My husband and I moved from Southern California to Dallas exactly 10 years ago this month, but I still miss the perfect sunshine and the flowers that bloom all year round there.

Splish Splash - Thaw Malin iii

"Splish Splash", this is not quite so small a painting, 6" x 8", oil on canvas panel. A northeast breeze and almost full moon tide made for a noisy beach today. The rollers came in and punched up and down the shoreline I was on. One splash off the rock I was painting flew just over my shoulder. Quitting time...! S Hodges:Tuba Parade, 40x30x2, oil on gallery canvas

I totally love parades, and especially the bands... all of them , especially the giant tubas which remind me of stampeding elephants (and frequently sound similar to the pachyderms, ahem). It takes a special person to play a tuba, don't you think? This piece stands on its own, or completes a triptych of the Memorial Day Parade pieces: see prior posts of 'Memorial Day Bagpipers' and 'Canines on Parade'. All are painted on gallery depth canvas, completed finished to the edges, so no need to frame. To purchase this painting, contact me or use the PayPal button below. These 40x30x2 paintings are priced at $900 each, and I would apply a discount should you wish to purchase the triptych.

Texas Hill Country pastel by Niki Gulley

"Last Light," Texas Hill Country ©2010 Niki Gulley 12" x 24" pastel We drove down to the Texas Hill Country to see the bluebonnets, and the Willow City Loop did not disappoint! Thick masses of azure blue as far as the eye could see. I was particularly drawn to this scene late in the day when the sun was starting to set and creating interesting long lavender shadows across the gently rolling landscape. I'll have this pastel at my booth at the Cottonwood Art Festival, cottonwoodartfestival.com this weekend f you'd like to see it in person. Or, e-mail me at Niki@NikiGulley.com for more information. "Lake Morning" original oil painting by Gwen Bell

© 2010 Gwen Bell 16 X 24 oil on canvas SOLD I rarely do landscapes but liked the mirror image of this scene. Early mornings on the lake are so incredibly peaceful. No sound except for the birds and the occasional fish jumping in the water. My family is fortunate to own a house on 2 acres right on the shores of Lake Tawakoni in East Texas. It is an old farm house that my Grandfather built in the 1920's. My Aunt and Uncle moved the house from Dallas in the 1960's. The house was cut in half and hauled it on 2 huge trailers in the middle of the night. It was a haven for us as kids then, and in turn, for my boys. My son's inherited the house when my Aunt and Uncle passed. We now spend many fun times taking care of the place, hiking, looking at the stars and enjoying morning coffee to a scene very much like the above painting. Sunrise in Bosque County by Sheri Jones

Sunrise in Bosque County by Sheri Jones 8 x 10 oil on canvas A group of us were meeting to paint together at a ranch in Glen Rose. So we got on site painted a quickie and met up with the rest of the group by 8:30. Zoom zoom Available Sheri@sheriart.net sheriart.net sheriart.blogspot.com

RED LIGHT BY PAT MEYER

AVAIABLE (NOW SHOWING AT THE DUTCH ART GALLERY DALLAS, TX) This painting has my favorite color of red all through it. When looking at the objects my eye followed the light on each red object in the set up. The path of light that is followed in the painting gives you a clear path on how to view the painting. When we look at our daily lives do we have a clear path to follow or are we bouncing around. May your path have a bright light leading you and may you find your easel friendly. Painting can be seen currently at the Dutch Art Gallery Dallas, Tex Pat@Meyer.net PatMeyerdailypainter.blogspot.com

S. Hodges: The Diner, 60x36x2, oil on gallery canvas

A great diner is one of my favorite things. This one is in Dallas, owned by a friend of mine, and is just a great place for food and friends. The strong morning light through the back windows added an interesting touch to this composition, making all the condiments look like mini-cityscapes (well, that's how it looked to me!). To purchase this painting, (price $2250., no need to frame as painting is finished on all edges, gallery depth canvas) use the PayPal button below, or contact me for more info. Thanks for looking!

A Little Love - Sunflower Bouquet by Nancy Medina

A Little Love, Sunflower Bouquet by Nancy Medina 8X10 Oil on Canvas Daily Painters Gallery Nancy Medina Web Site Nancy Medina Art Blog This oil painting is based on one of my favorite flowers, the sunflower. I planted 9 packets of sunflower seeds in my garden yesterday in hopes of many yellow bloomers later this spring. I mixed them up liberally, putting giants in with the little multicolor ones, and I have them in pots and beds. I grew up on an organic farm in East Texas and my parents used to grow giant sunflowers to help attract the insects off the vegetable crops. I remember standing barefoot and gazing up into the wide, warm faces of the big sunflowers, and later tasting the seeds toasted fresh from the oven. What good memories!

Misty Morning by Sheri Jones

Misty Morning by Sheri Jones 9 x 12 oil on canvas This was painted in Marble Falls during the Paint the Town show and sale last weekend. It was raining gently, creating a very misty atmosphere. I popped open the umbrella and painted away. The winds were calm and I stayed dry for the most part. Available Sheri@sheriart.net sheriart.net sheriart.blogspot.com

Storming Up - Thaw Malin iii

"Storming Up", this is a Small painting, 6"x 8", oil on canvas panel. My judgement was off and rain came while I still painted near the steps. Nothing serious because the car was close and the rain was slow to build into a down pour. But, what drama over water and sky! The sun popped for 10 seconds betwixt clouds and earth, a soft, muted, orange ball. I had painted everything except the orange streak, not expecting more than that. It was worth every rain drop... Coronado Color Cottage Painting by Nancy Medina

Coronado Color by Nancy Medina 8X8 Oil on Canvas Daily Painters Gallery Nancy Medina Web Site Nancy Medina Art Blog Artist contact: nancy@nancymedina.com The most amazing flowers grow on Coronado Island, California, near San Diego. The real competitors at the Annual Flower Show on the island last week were the roses. Somes were the size of dinner plates! The only challenge about traveling to Coronado Island for my solo art show was explaining to the assistants why they had to stay home with Aunt Bitsy. The four-footed helpers never holds a grudge, fortunately, once you have given them a cookie or three.

Texas Bluebonnets Oil Painting by Niki Gulley

"Surrounded by Bluebonnets" ©2010 Niki Gulley 12" x 24" oil painting Bluebonnets in Ennis, Texas on a beautiful clear day. I thought it was important to get both the red barn and the pond in this painting to set the scene, so in order to balance all of that weight on the right hand side of the picture, I chose a panorama format to include the trees and driveway on the left side of the property. I'll have this painting and several other Texas landscapes at Southlake's Art in the Square this weekend.
