Winter Light Red Geraniums by Texas Flower Artist Nancy Medina

Winter Light Red Geraniums by Nancy Medina 11X14 Oil on Linen Board Purchase Information Nancy Medina Web Site Winter Light is the newest geranium and daisy painting in the studio today. I am definitely on a red kick this week. I've been growing geraniums for over a decade, and last summer was so wet with so much rain my dry weather loving blossoms barely made an appearance. Imagine my excitement to find a whole aisle of geraniums at the nursery this weekend, just in time for my class at the Dallas Arboretum last Saturday. I'm going to spritz these little plants with water and talk to them and coax them into sticking around for a while. They need to earn their keep and model for a few more paintings! Visit my art blog to see the studio models who inspired this painting.

Wash Day - An original oil painting by George De Chiara

Wash Day 6x8 inches Oil on Canvas Panel by George De Chiara Click here to bid.  I'm always on the look out for running water. It's by far one of my favorite subjects to paint so I very excited to discover a new little river just a few miles from our house. After spending a few minutes looking at different compositions of the running water and rocks, I choose this view, which, of course, turned out to be one of the more difficult locations to paint from. I had to set my easel up on top of a pile of rocks laying on the river bank and balance on one of the rocks to paint. Whenever I wanted to step back and see my progress, I had to carefully step down the pile of rocks to a little clearing so I could study my painting and then climb back up and make my adjustments. It's things like this that make painting outdoors interesting and a lot of fun. To view more of my work visit my website  http://georgedechiara.com/

Ginger Jar Geraniums and a Dallas Arboretum Flower Workshop by Texas Artist Nancy Medina

Ginger Jar Geraniums by Nancy Medina 16X20 Oil on Linen Board Purchase Information Nancy Medina Web Site Ginger Jar Geraniums is the newest painting in Flower Mound Studio, after a busy weekend teaching at the Dallas Arboretum. I painted geraniums and white daisies for my first class demo on Saturday, and then sunflowers in the afternoon. My feet were tired but my heart was happy - teaching art is definitely becoming my favorite thing to do. We had a fun day painting in the most beautiful gardens in North Texas, and even had sunshine (after a week of rain). The Arboretum classrooms are roomy and have skylights that let in tons of natural light, and the staff and volunteers stay with us all day to lend a hand whenever needed. I hope you will join me soon for a workshop in Flower Mound Studio, in Fredericksburg, Texas, or right back at the Dallas Arboretum again! You can find more workshop information here. Come paint with me!

"Opposites Attract" Two Woman Show w/ Gulley & Padgett

"Passionate Embrace" ©2012 Niki Gulley textured oil painting • 36" x 36" I wanted this birch painting to be very colorful and whimsical, like through the eyes of a child looking into the treetops with fascination. I also like how sometimes the difference between realism and abstraction isn't that great at all, and in this case, by just inverting and adding tree trunks to Elizabeth Padgett's abstract painting, the result can become a realistic scene in "Passionate Embrace." Please join Dallas artists, Niki Gulley and Elizabeth Padgett, for this Two Woman Show "Opposites Attract," featuring their paintings from two different perspectives – realism and abstraction. Artist Reception is Sun. Feb. 5 from 2 to 4 pm at the Jaycee Center for the Arts, 1975 Puritan Dr. between Story Rd. and MacArthur in Irving, TX. Exhibit runs Jan. 29 - Feb 23, 2012. If you have any questions, please e-mail Niki Gulley. To see more of Niki Gulley's con...

Krsitine Kainer: The Key to My Heart

Oil on Canvas Panel 6x6 SOLD This little painting was done in anticipation of Valentine's Day last year. Unfortunately, I didn't time its debut very well and it has been homeless ever since. (Though, I think the message is timeless....) The key, by the way, is actually still in use for one of my doors--it's the easiest one to find on my keychain! Beautiful Colors in this Realistic Contemporary painting by M. Allison 'The Clique' 36 X 36 oil on canvas contact me for purchase and commissions: allison@mallisonartist.com M. Allison © M. Allison 2011 mallisonartist.com These are wonderful somewhat new colors for me. I have  fallen in love with this combination! I took several photos of one seagull in Carmel, California with the intent to paint something unbeknownst to me at the time, and am happy to say that I like it!  This gives me incentive to do more - maybe a monochomatic.  This little seagull didn't know how much he would be loved! BETSY STEVENSON by Linda Popple

4x4 Oil on Ampersand Gessobord "Betsy “Eagle Eye” Stevenson.  She is deceptively innocent looking.  She is a frequent world traveler who has been know to shoot in Italy and France as well as throughout the United States.   Along with being an expert shot our sources say she may well just set up an easel and capture images on site.  Beware of easels in the field...easels on the beach...beware!  We  know is she is armed with a SLR and dangerous to those who don’t want to be immortalized on canvas." A Touch of Green on the Arroyo by David Forks

A Touch of Green on the Arroyo by David Forks Oil on canvas, 24"x36" This is a scene along an arroyo in Big Bend National Park. It was painted from photos taken in July of 2011. Most of the state experienced one of the worst droughts in recent history, and I found it very interesting how the flora nearest the arroyo was green while the majority of the desert plants were barely clinging to life. The photo of this painting is not very good. I had a very difficult time getting a usable image of this painting because of its' size. dforks.blogspot.com davidforks.com

CHRIS WERST by Linda Popple

4x4 Oil on Ampersand Gessobord Click HERE to view my blog. "Chris “the Moniker” Werst  comes by her alias honestly.  She misses nothing.    At beaches, Galleries, tourist attractions...She retains everything.  She is very proficient at finding out and remembering names of people, places and things.  She uses this to her advantage.  She will call your name and then act like she knows you...by the time you realize she is a stranger it is too late...you are digitally immortalized and destined to become canvas bound.  Her whereabouts is totally unknown as she does not...at this writing...have a blog."   Artfully written by  Maria Hock . Chris, you will love having a blog!! HAPPY FRIDAY!!

Sans Souci Red Rose Lane by Texas Flower Artist Nancy Medina

Sans Souci Red Rose Lane by Nancy Medina 16X20 Oil on Linen Board Purchase Information Nancy Medina Web Site Sans Souci was originally painted over a year ago, but tonight I went in and made quite a few changes and freshened up my fence. I felt a bit like Tom Sawyer, painting that fence and wishing someone would come along whom I could talk into doing it for me. The painted fence series has been fun, but I think next I will move to cottage fence combinations, or maybe I'll just make soup, to quote someone I really truly admire. Can you guess who she was?

Last Leaves - An original oil painting by George De Chiara

Last Leaves 8x6 inches Oil on Canvas Panel by George De Chiara Click here to bid.   So far, we are having a very mild winter down here in Texas with lots of rain and relatively warm weather. After a record-breaking dry and hot summer, this has been a most welcome change. It's also made for some great weather to get out and paint and that's exactly what I did for this painting. I went to a near by wildlife area and found this scene. I was immediately struck by the quality of light striking the very last leaves on this oak tree. It's late January and this tree is still not giving up the last of its leaves without a fight. Plus with all the rain we've had over the last 2 months, there's actually lots of fresh green growth in the grassy foreground and even a few green saplings coming up in the brush.  To view more of my work visit my website  http://georgedechiara.com/
