Wild and Free by Wildlife Artist Sandra Reeves Cutrer

"Wild and Free" a tiger portrait by Wildlife Artist Sandra Reeves Cutrer. This beautiful cat is painted in oils on a professional artist board, 8" x 10", ready for framing. I have meticulously painted in much of his fur and whiskers, making him as realistic as possible, yet maintaining a painterly approach so his new owner will appreciate it as an original oil work. His eyes have followed me for days, as I have worked on several other animal paintings. I feel like he has become part of my studio, and I think I will come up with a more personal name for him soon! Thanks for reading my blog and looking at my work. Please contact me at sandrasart777@aol.com for a price on Wild and Free, or for any other original paintings for sell please visit my blog at : srcartavenue.blogspot.com. Dancer by Kay Wyne

Dancer Contemporary Equine Painting 24" x 24" Oil on Heavy Duty Gallery Wrap Canvas My inspiration for this painting was a photograph of my nephew riding at a horse show several years ago.  I loved the shape of the horse's head and her coloring.  I just varnished this piece, so it will be ready to find a new home.  Contact Kay for more information at 214-532-0325 or kay@kwyne.com.  Thanks.  Kay

Rainbow Trout by Sally Fraser

Ah, the classic trout that is very hard to catch. Although, in Colorado I caught two large ones that didnt fit in the frying pan!  My fly-fishing husband likes me to paint fish. This is another one same size as the Brook Trout. 18x8..$300. They make a handsome pair for a Fathers Day present. sngfraser@gmail.com

Brook Trout by Texas Contemporary Artist Sally Fraser

Once a year I go fly fishing in North Carolina . At my husbands urging I decided to paint some trout in a more contemporary way. Look great in a Dr. office, Lawyers or any office. I rather think in a kitchen too!   Done in a loose style in oils, 8x18, price $300. sngfraser @gmail.com . Also , I have Pay Pal set up. PS. I am off to catch some trout this week!

IRIS ILLUSION by Carol Peterson

Iris Illusion by Carol Peterson 22" x 15" watercolor $500.00 carolpeterson@suddenlink.net This painting was painted from photos taken in a year when the iris were absolutely beautiful.  The background was started with a heavy application of green, blue and some red watercolor in a wet on dry fashion.  While the background was wet, I put plastic wrap on the paper and stretched it vertically.  When dry this gave the impression of leaves in the background.  Some of the leaves were reinforced with color. www.carolpetersonart.com

PANSY DANCE BY STILL LIFE ARTIST PAT MEYER

11 X 14 ORIGINAL OIL ON LINEN CONTACT ARTIST TO PURCHASE PAT@MEYER.NET The last of the pansies are growing in the yard so before planting their replacements I decided to dig some up and put them in vases to paint.  The wild and wonderful freedom they displayed was like they were dancing in the vase.  Oh to behave any way you want and still look beautiful.  That is a gift from God.  May you dance as if no one is looking and may you find your easel friendly. PAY PAL ACCEPTED

Polka-dot Roses Painting, Acrylic Abstract Floral Drip by Texas Artist Nancy Standlee

"Polka-dot Roses" 12061 36"x12"x2" acrylic mixed media on Ampersand Gessobord I've been with about 20 other happy artists for a 4 day workshop in Granbury, TX at the LGAA with instructor artist, Carolyn Riegelman from Denton. The above painting is one of my favorites from several I finished at the workshop (some were starts from a previous workshop). My photography does not do this one justice as there is a lot of depth with the many layers of drips, splashes and graphic lines. The workshop title was "Acrylic/Texture Abstract" and we used some venetian plaster for our texture. I will post more photos and paintings from the workshop in the coming posts.  See rest of the blog post HERE.  CONTEMPORARY ABSTRACT ACRYLIC PAINTING, PAINTINGS FOR SALE, DAILY PAINTWORKS, FIGURATIVE PAINTING. Cross My Heart by Kay Wyne

Cross My Heart 60" x 20" Oil on Linen Gallery Wrap This size canvas is really cool.  It is very vertical, and if you have the right wall space, this canvas might work for you.  The paints were applied with a palette knife, so there is alot of texture on the linen.  I have purposely left the natural linen peaking through, giving the eye a rest.  Thanks for viewing this blog....kay@kwyne.com.

Heavy Runoff - An original oil painting by George De Chiara

Heavy Runoff 6x8 inches Oil on Canvas Panel by George De Chiara Click here to bid.   A few days after we had a good rain storm, I painted this scene. I had figured that what is normally a little creek with a nice trickle of water would be moving pretty good, but I never expected there to be so much runoff. Almost all the rocks had water flowing over them, with just the tallest peaks staying dry. In fact, the spot I normally paint from when I go there was completely underwater as well, so I had to stand on the rocks on the edge of the river and balance my easel and myself very carefully, making sure neither one fell into the water. This made for quite the challenge when painting. For those of you curious where this is, it's at Bob Findlay Linear Park in Arlington's Interlochen subdivision. Aboretum Azaleas by Sheri Jones

Aboretum Azaleas 8x10 oil on canva This painting was inspired  from a trip to the Dallas Aboretum.  Their garden displays are a joy to walk through. I painted while I was there, but also took some photos.  They are a good resource and a good reminder of a beautiful day.  This is available for purchase. $200.00 Sheri@sheriart.net www.Sheriart.net www.sheriart.blogspot.com www.cfai.co/sherijones  I will be doing a painting demo at Dutch Art Gallery 10233 E. "AFTERNOON COLORS" – Plein air landscape oil painting by Texas modern impressionist Jimmy Longacre

Path To Heaven by Kay Wyne

Path To Heaven 48" x 48" Original Oil on Heavy Duty Canvas/Gallery Wrap Contemporary Landscape This is a neat size canvas.  It is large enough to go over a sofa, or just the right size for a medium to large wall space.  I really focused on the color palette for this painting.  It is natural for me to use vibrant, bold and contrasting colors when I paint.  I wanted a natural, harmonious, and earthy color scheme.  I was wanting to jazz it up with some blues, purples, reds and turquoise.  But to achieve a calm mood, I kept the colors under control.  The first thing I did was to paint in blocks of color with a very wide brush, then started layering in the mountains with a large palette knife.  I used two knifes for most of the application of paint.  It is layered on the canvas, and built up with lots of texture. Thanks for looking at this blog and my art.....Kay at kay@kwyne.com or 214-532-0325.

Niki Gulley at Southlake Art in the Square - Fri. - Sun.

Poppy Passion ©2012 Niki Gulley 18" x 36" • Textured painting on canvas I absolutely love it when I come across a whole field of wildflowers – there is something about the transformation of a single dainty flower into a dense explosion of color that inspires awe and delights your senses. So in Poppy Passion, I combined memories of places I’ve been with intense saturated colors to convey that joy I feel when I come across a gorgeous field of poppies. Jardim dos Segredos Acrylic on Canvas 40" x 40" x 1.5" Sold A few days ago I posted a blog about a new painting I was just starting to work on.  It's fun to post pictures of something I'm working on and then show its progress.  Well, somewhere along the line, I decided to change course completely.  It's a very abstracted floral, something I rarely paint.  I'm having a lot of fun with it and would love to show it but, who knows, I may change my mind again.   I'm proud to announce that I'm now joining many of my artist friends on the Dailypainters.com blog. Wild Purple Garden Gate by Texas Flower Artist Nancy Medina

Wild Purple Garden Gate by Nancy Medina 14X14 Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Purchase Information Nancy Medina Web Site Wild Purple Garden Gate is a bit of reality mixed with fantasy. I took one trellis I loved from my trip to Coronado Island, CA, and combined a few favorite southern climbers into the mix. The inspiration for Wild Purple is shown on my art blog today , and you might not recognize what inspired the painting compared with what it actually ended up being - I'm afraid this is just one of those tangents my mind takes every once in a while, going off in a completely different direction than reality! Tonight I'm packing up my studio for a trip to Fredericksburg, Texas, where I will be teaching a three day class. I have high hopes that the lavender fields will be in bloom when I arrive!

Fruit of the Vine by Sandra Reeves Cutrer

"Fruit of the Vine" by Texas artist Sandra Reeves Cutrer. This bright and painterly style original work is painted in oils on a 24" x 30" x 1.5" gallery wrapped stretched canvas, all sides painted. Big and bold! Most of my followers know I am a wildlife painter, but I enjoy getting out of my box sometimes, painting still life's, abstracts, and whatever my heart leads me to paint. This is such a soothing piece to me, with the reddish-orange hues, and lots of shades of greens. I think I'll go pour me a glass of wine now... Thanks for reading my blog and looking at my work. Tandy Hills - An original oil painting by George De Chiara

Tandy Hills 6x8 inches Oil on canvas panel by George De Chiara Click here to bid .  We've been very lucky to have so much rain this spring. Not only is everything green and our lakes are filled back up from last year's drought, but we've had one of the best wildflower shows in years. It seems like every field, ditch and unmown area has something blooming in it. While we are getting past the peak now, I was able to get out a few times when things were really going strong and paint. This painting is from Tandy Hills, a wonderful nature area just outside Fort Worth. All of the fields were in full of color when I went there. Unfortunately, you can also see the results of last years drought. That little pine just couldn't make it, but it did go out in a blaze of color. The Pink Tango by Wildlife Artist Sandra Reeves Cutrer

"The Pink Tango" is an original oil painting on a  22" x 28" x 0.50" stretched canvas. These two Roseate Spoonbills make their home around the gulf area of southeast Texas. Far off, these birds are sometimes mistaken for pink flamingos. I love their colorful heads and pink, fluffy plumage. The paint seemed to flow on the canvas when I worked this piece. I don't think the photo does this painting justice at all-so much more vibrant in person. Don't they look to be dancing the Tango?  Thanks for viewing my work and reading my blog. Blazing Transitions II - New birch painting by Niki Gulley

Blazing Transitions II ©2012 Niki Gulley 48" x 36" • Textured painting on canvas I used to love it as a kid when my parents would take me to the forest preserves near our home outside of Chicago. We would spend the whole day bike riding, picnicking and being immersed in nature and I relished this time with my family. In Blazing Transitions II I wanted to recreate those warm memories, choosing reds and yellows of autumn to heighten those happy feelings and using energetic strokes with my paint reminiscent of a carefree, simpler time. Garden Gala Cottage With Roses and Hydrangeas by Texas Flower Artist Nancy Medina

Garden Gala Cottage With Roses & Hydrangeas by Nancy Medina 14X14 Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Purchase Information Nancy Medina Web Site Garden Gala Cottage is the newest painting in Flower Mound Studio, as I unpack from my gear from my solo show on Coronado Island. Each year that I visit the island near San Diego, CA, I come home with even more ideas and inspiration for flower paintings. I've found my favorite cottages and visit them over and over again, the one just off Orange Avenue, near the heart of downtown, and two of my favorites next door to each other on Pomona Avenue. The roses seem to get larger each time I see them, and this year I wanted to give you an idea of just how large they really are. Visit my blog for a photo of one of these giant roses from one of the award winning cottages. I look at my own struggling little rose bushes and I'm glad they can't see the picture. They'd grow an inferiority complex or something....!

Sun Swept Cottage Path Rose Arbor by Texas Flower Artist Nancy Medina

Sun Swept Cottage Path  by Nancy Medina 14X14 Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Purchase Information Nancy Medina Web Site Sun Swept Cottage Path is a new painting in Flower Mound Studio, as I package up a 48X48 hydrangea for a client in Texas. Sometimes I depend on my imagination to fill in details for my paintings, and in this painting I added a trellis to the bottom rungs of the archway. I also changed the color of the background house from sky blue to a muted gray, since I wanted to put some sky blue in the fence in the foreground. I took several pictures of this painting and studied the images on my camera viewfinder to make a few final corrections, then took the final photos for the blog. This painting is one more memento based on my visit to Coronado, California. You'll see more in the days to come, so stay tuned to my art blog !

PEARlicious by Kathy Baker Mackey

PEARlicious 24 x 36 Abstract Oil Sold  I had so much fun painting this pear. I set up two pears for reference. But, during the course of painting, I became hungry. I did not want to stop and take time to fix something to eat, so I bit into one of the still life props and savored the sweetness of the fruit. I thought, this is so delicious. Hence, the name. My granddaughter use to say, Nanny this is "licious" , another reason for the name. I hope PEARlicious brings a smile to your face and the urge to buy delicious seasonal fresh fruit to savor. Take time to savor the fruit of your labor. Blessings and hugs... Going Back in Time - Original Abstract Acrylic Modern Art Contemporary Painting by Filomena de Andrade Texas Contemporary Artist

Critical Mass Acrylic on Canvas 48" x 72" x 1" Sold   A few years ago, my son and daughter-in-law asked me to paint something for their new home.  Their colors were coral and a vibrant golden yellow.  They need something large for the family room, so I decided to use three canvases and paint them all together.  This is one painting that came together quickly and with very little of the struggle that sometimes happens when working on a commission.   I really enjoyed working on this particular painting and was very happy with the result.  And, most importantly, the kids loved the painting too!
